Make Your Own Wooden Table

Crafting your own wooden table is not as complicated as some people may think. It can be constructed with little effort, money and materials.

There are not many things that are needed to make your own wooden table. You will just need the wood, screws, hammer, saws and nails, possibly some sand paper to smooth it off, but these things can probably be found in most people’s sheds.

Step 1

Take you saw and start to saw the wood for the tabletop. The size of the table top is dependant upon your personal preference.

Step 2

To secure the frame together all you use are the screws and nails.

Step 3

Attach the tabletop that you have just made to the table frame that you made earlier.

Step 4

You should then secure four corner braces to each of the corners of the underside of the table to keep it sturdy.

Step 5

Cut four legs for your new wooden table. You need to make sure that they are all exactly the same length, or you will have a wonky table!

Step 6

Secure your table legs that you have just made to the table itself. You need to make sure that the screws are long, so that they work properly.

Step 7

If you feel your wooden table doesn’t look smooth enough, then you should sand down the entire thing.

Step 8

You can now paint, carve or decorate your brand new wooden table.

You need to make sure that your table measurements are exactly right down to the last inch, because if they are even slightly wrong, you will have either a wonky table or one that just doesn’t look right.

Making your own wooden table yourself can save a lot of money. You could also make a difference and help the environment by making it out of recycled materials!

The best thing about making your own wooden table yourself is that you can choose exactly how you want it to look without any extra cost at all. You should, however, make sure that you do a reasonable amount of research on how to make a wooden table before you start to make yours.

This is a good project to do on your day off or you can save it for a family project. If you follow all these instructions you should have yourself a beautiful, hand crafted wooden table!
